Reducing Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS)

Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) can have serious medical consequences for workers. HAVS is caused by exposure to vibrations from the use of hand-held power tools causing significant ill health (painful and disabling disorders of the blood vessels, nerves and joints). And once damage is done it is permanent.

But HAVS is preventable.

The Thermal Road Repairs process vastly reduces workers exposure to HAVS and as such is classed as low risk. There is no need to use a roadbreaker, like traditional methods, which is high risk. Instead of breaking out and removing the area around a pothole and defect, TRR uses an infrared heater to heat up the remaining material in the pothole or crack and the material around it. Once soft it can be mixed with a small amount of new material and compacted.

Low HAVS is just one of the many benefits of adopting the TRR system into your “toolkit” for asphalt repairs.

Thermal Road Repairs is a green technology company which supplies systems to improve the quality, cost and time efficiency of road repairs and paving – at a far lower environmental cost than traditional methods. It invests significantly in R&D, to create new technologies and to continuously improve existing ones.
